Meet the brewed

Who We Are

Our History

Joe and Eric share a long history of playing in bands, with their bond rooted in years of gigs and jam sessions. Kate joined the duo when she met Joe through a mutual trivia teammate, and their musical connection was instant.

Looking to complete their lineup, Eric put out a call for a drummer on social media, and through a mutual friend, met Dave. After one audition, Dave fit in perfectly and the lineup was complete. With their shared passion and undeniable chemistry, this band feels like a perfect mix of talent and friendship.

Eric

Guitar

Eric plays guitar and contributes vocals in The Brewed. Eric has over 35 years of experience playing guitar in various bands in the DMV area. While Eric grew up a metalhead, he has grown to appreciate lots of different styles of music and has incorporated those in his guitar playing. Eric's influences include James Hetfield, Darrell Abbott, David Gilmour, Jim Morrison, and Joe Duplantier.

Kate

Lead Vocalist/Guitarist

Kate plays a ton of instruments, though she'll admit guitar is her weakest. Kate spent years in piano competitions and performed with various organizations on piano and woodwinds, but never ventured into rock, pop, or metal. Singing was always a dream, but the fear of performing in front of people held her back. In recent months, she’s finally overcome that fear. In fact, the first time she sang the national anthem at an event (a bucket list moment), she was so nervous she nearly threw up. After spending almost two months in the ICU and coming close to a near-death experience, Kate found herself with an incredible opportunity to sing alongside some amazing musicians. Life is short, and she’s making the most of it!

Joe

Bass

Joe is the bass player for The Brewed. He has been playing bass guitar for decades, and one would probably expect him to be a little better than he is now, quite frankly. Like many people, he tells others he enjoys a wide range of musical styles, but in all honesty, he listens to heavy metal and hard rock almost exclusively. Some of Joe’s favorite famous people are Cliff Burton, Bruce Dickinson, Cal Ripken, Ricky “The Dragon” Steamboat, and the guy who played Dwight on The Office. He is also uncomfortable writing about himself in the third person.

Dave

Drums

Drummer Dave hails from upstate New York but grew up in the heart of Northern Virginia (NOVA). A self-proclaimed jack of several instruments, though admittedly a master of none, Dave brings a unique perspective to his craft. His musical influences are as eclectic as they are diverse, spanning artists like CCR, Evan Bliss, Bomba Estéreo, The Cramps, The Damned, The Muffs, The Donnas, Nirvana, Guns N’ Roses, Jefferson Starship, and even the Smurfs. Mostly active in the DC Metro area, Dave thrives in a variety of musical settings, always ready to contribute his rhythm and flair to any artistic endeavor.
